Hello ravens, Amy here, freshly back from vacation on St. Croix and desperately trying to get back into the groove. This trip couldn’t have come at a better time — after months of working to get Ravenous launched, freelancing, and otherwise trying to endure the horrors of human existence, I desperately needed some time away from my computer. St. Croix delivered that in abundance, and amid the trips to world-renowned beaches and hanging out with beer-drinking pigs, I also enjoyed some excellent food.

In this newsletter, you’ll hear more about what I ate — and the simple joys of unplanned dining on vacation — along with some of our favorite reads of the week, both on Ravenous and elsewhere on the web.
